A Anniversary game starring your wife

For a wife's anniversary, the boss is the holiday you never talk about, and the fact you put it in a game is the joke. Her face on the hero, wine glasses for weapons, and taunts made of the years you have had. Only she gets them, which is the whole point.

The win message is where the anniversary card goes: say it properly, with confetti. Give it across the dinner table, and if you want something for the drawer as well, the printed postcard arrives a few days later.

Example: Priya vs The Holiday We Never Talk About, playing itself. Tap to take over. Yours has their face and your jokes.

Bosses that work for a wife

  • The Laundry Mountain · it never gets smaller and it is never hers
  • The Calendar · the boss that runs the house
  • The School Run · a boss fight every weekday at 8:10

Jokes that land

Three inside jokes become the taunts. For a wife, think the holiday we never talk about, the wine glass that was definitely not the last one, or the way she says my name when the bins have not gone out. You can rewrite every line.

Start with a photo

Free to make and play. $9.99 only when you send the link.

On the day

Give it at dinner, on your phone, and watch them play it across the table. Or leave the link as the last message before you go to sleep the night before. The win message is where the actual anniversary card goes: say the thing you would write in a card, and they read it after they have won.

The photo

A photo she likes of herself. That matters more than lighting. Straight on, no sunglasses, and the background can be anything.

Difficulty

Normal takes a few tries, which is the point. Easy if they are likely to give up after one loss.

Questions people ask

Can the boss be something from our relationship?
That is the best version. The boss is any photo, so it can be the lawn, the dog, the sofa you argued about, or the place you met. Name it, and the taunts will use it.
Can I keep the message private?
The message is inside the game, so only someone with the link sees it. Nobody but the two of you needs to have it.
What photo works best?
A clear head-and-shoulders shot on a plain background. Selfies are fine. Group photos are not, since we cut out one person.
Can I change it after publishing?
You can edit the lines and message from the same device you made it on. Sprites are fixed once published.
