A Christmas game starring your coworker
The office gift exchange present that is actually good: their face on the hero, the year-end deadline as the boss, staplers for weapons, and the printer in the taunts. The whole team signs the win message and nobody has to find a pen.
Play it on the big screen at the Christmas party. Everything in it is what you wrote, so it is as safe as any card. Then send the link and they play it on the train home.
Example: Sam vs The Year-End Deadline, playing itself. Tap to take over. Yours has their face and your jokes.
Bosses that work for a coworker
- The 4pm Meeting · it could have been an email
- The Printer · it hates us all equally
- The Client · no names, everyone knows
Jokes that land
Three inside jokes become the taunts. For a coworker, think the printer that hates us, the meeting that should have been an email, or the lunch that got stolen from the fridge. You can rewrite every line.
Start with a photoFree to make and play. $9.99 only when you send the link.
On the day
Put the QR code in the card under the tree, or in the cracker, and let them scan it at the table with everyone watching. For a stocking, the printed postcard is the physical version: game on the front, your note and a scan-to-play code on the back, posted to a US or Canadian address. Order by mid-December to be safe.
The photo
The team photo, cropped to them. Or the one from the intranet, which they will hate, which is why it is funny.
Difficulty
Normal takes a few tries, which is the point. Easy if they are likely to give up after one loss.
Questions people ask
- Will it work on Christmas morning on the family wifi?
- The game is small and runs in the phone browser. Once the link has opened it keeps playing without a connection, so a slow one only delays the first load.
- Is it appropriate for work?
- You write every line, so it is as appropriate as you make it. The bosses on this page are safe for any office. Play the example first if you want to see the tone.
- What photo works best?
- A clear head-and-shoulders shot on a plain background. Selfies are fine. Group photos are not, since we cut out one person.
- Can I change it after publishing?
- You can edit the lines and message from the same device you made it on. Sprites are fixed once published.
