A Christmas game starring your mom

The Christmas present for a mother is the one that admits she did all the work. She is the hero, the family calendar is the boss, casseroles are the weapon, and the taunts are the phone calls and the bowling night. The win message is signed by everyone she organised.

Give it on Christmas morning, before the dinner, so she has something to show people when they arrive. The printed postcard is the version that goes on the fridge.

Example: Mom vs The Family Calendar, playing itself. Tap to take over. Yours has their face and your jokes.

Bosses that work for a mom

  • The Unanswered Text · she saw it, she is thinking about it
  • The Family Calendar · the boss she runs single-handed
  • The Dog · the one who actually runs the house

Jokes that land

Three inside jokes become the taunts. For a mom, think the time she beat everyone at bowling, the casserole that is still talked about, or the one phone call that lasts an hour. You can rewrite every line.

Start with a photo

Free to make and play. $9.99 only when you send the link.

On the day

Put the QR code in the card under the tree, or in the cracker, and let them scan it at the table with everyone watching. For a stocking, the printed postcard is the physical version: game on the front, your note and a scan-to-play code on the back, posted to a US or Canadian address. Order by mid-December to be safe.

The photo

One she approves of. A straight-on photo from a family event works; the cut-out ignores the background.

Difficulty

Pick Easy: five hearts, slow shots, and the boss waits until they throw once.

Questions people ask

Will it work on Christmas morning on the family wifi?
The game is small and runs in the phone browser. Once the link has opened it keeps playing without a connection, so a slow one only delays the first load.
Is it too silly for her?
The fight is silly. The message at the end is not, and that is what she keeps. Most mothers replay it to show a friend.
What photo works best?
A clear head-and-shoulders shot on a plain background. Selfies are fine. Group photos are not, since we cut out one person.
Can I change it after publishing?
You can edit the lines and message from the same device you made it on. Sprites are fixed once published.
